You can play Dungeons and DoomKnights on the NES original hardware with a cartridge (cart), or play the ROM on your computer or Android device using an emulator.
On your NES
Get the full "complete in box" cartridge and play on your original NES 1985 Console (NES-100) or on any new NES compatible consoles that support Mapper 30. More compatible consoles include the redesigned NES Console (NES-101), the re-released NES Console (HVS-101), the RetroUSB AVS Console, the HyperKin Retron HD* (M01888-GR) and Retron 2, the CLASSIQ N Console and the Analogue NT/NT Mini (Rev1). The consoles that don't work are the HyperKin Retron 5 (older ones should work though) and RetroDuo.
On your Computer
You can play the ROM using an emulator. We highly recommend Mesen for PC and Linux and OpenEmu for Mac. You can also check out FCEUX and RetroArch which can be used to play on Steam and uses the Mesen core.
On your Mobile Devices
You can play the ROM on your Android phone or tablet using an emulator. We recommend Panda NES, NES.emu (by Robert Broglia), RetroArch with the core named NES/Famicon (Mesen with license GPLv3), Retro NES Emulator, Super NES, NESDroid and SuperNostalgia. You an also use Delta or RetroArch emulator on iOS devices.
What is an NES, ROM and/or an emulator? We're glad you asked! We have players that aren't from the generation that played games via the NES or know how NES games could be played without the original system.
The Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) is one of the most iconic video game consoles of all time. It first appeared in America in 1985 and changed gaming forever. Popular titles included Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, Castlevania, Mike Tyson's Punch Out, and Metroid.
A Rom is a computer file which contains a copy of the data from a read-only memory chip, often from a video game cartridge, or used to contain a computer's firmware, or from an arcade game's main board. We ripped the game off the cart and now game can be downloaded as a file and played via an emulator.
An Emulator for a video game console allows a computing device to emulate the game console's hardware and play its games on the emulating platform.
If you don't have a NES or computer or don't want to use an emulator on your mobile device, the devs are looking into additional options!
